Last weekend I took part in the Move a Mile community event, organised by Grit Studios and The Coping CIC in Salford, Greater Manchester. The event brought together local artists, families and the wider community for a day of live street art, mural painting, skateboarding lessons and creative workshops. As a Manchester mural artist and illustrator, it was great to collaborate with other creatives while transforming the underpass opposite Grit Studios at Salford Shopping Centre into some colourful public artwork.

Community art projects like this show how creativity can bring people together, improve public spaces and get people to engage with local culture.
